The History of Ideal Caffè Stagnitta

In 1928 Giovanni Stagnitta founded Ideal Caffè Stagnitta, a brand that has become synonymous with coffee for entire generations of Palermitans and Sicilians. An honorable business, handed down from father to son up to today's fourth generation, always in the belief that producing good coffee is an art capable of giving a simple black bean the power to stimulate our senses.

Ideal Caffè Stagnitta has remained nearly unchanged since the early 1950s. It is a historic shop with a rich, warm style, typical of old-fashioned shops. The two valuable wooden sculptures stand out depicting the ancient art of coffee cultivation. D’Angelo, an illustrious master cabinetmaker from Palermo, signed them in 1951. Every day in the early morning hours it is possible to watch the coffee making process: for almost a century, the invigorating and unmistakable aroma of freshly roasted coffee has made it a pleasure to go for a walk at this hour in the heart of the historic center of Palermo.
